Stupidly gave scammers remote access to my PC for short time

I know i messed up and you don't have to remind me but it all fit together at the time. I was woken up at 9am this morning on my day off school by what i now know were cold callers: a charming laddie telling me there is a problem with my PC and that it is infected with a virus and spyware, which I was wary of prier to this which is what convinced me it was official. she talked me through steps showing me what was wrong with my PC and she did a good job in acting concerned I'll give her that. i was instructed to download supremo from www.help96 .com to give the cold callers (claiming to work for Microsoft) remote access to my PC so they could further investigate the problem, they insured me that i had complete control which i understood having used team viewer before despite the fact that they could remotely control the PC. They asked me about my computer games which i responded with: i used to play them but not much anymore, they followed this up with asking for my age which i gave them (that being 15) which they seemed surprised by as i have a very deep voice. Anyway they came to asking for a payment of £200 to fix the virus and spyware problems and if i declined they would leave me be, at this point i knew it was a scam and i told them no. They then just said okay and hung up.

after they hung up they had not exited the remote control of my PC, i panicked and there was nothing to close or let me end the thing, they then used the search function to open camera (which was very scary) so i quickly closed my laptop before they could see me (at lest i hope they didn't) and i force shut down my PC (via power button).

I feel very foolish and i can't stop kicking myself because of this and i am very paranoid about my privacy and safety as well as the security of my PC. I know it is far fetched but i feel as if they are literally watching me and i need reassurance that they are not as well as some advice as to what to do now.

i have been anxious all day due to this and i would greatly appreciate a trusted help in hand.

Greetings Crash07,

There is not much I can do since you did give the bad guys access to your computer via the internet.
When given access, they would more than likely install several "Back Door" or "Remote Access" points to gain access again if you go back on line.
They would also search for any information in order to steal your identity.

What you need to do FROM A CLEAN COMPUTER and/or by TELEPHONE:

Change ALL your passwords
Notify any and all financial institutions that you do business with on your computer
Notify Law Enforcement/Authorities and make a criminal complaint. (I presume you are in Great Britain - £200 - verses America $'s)

On this page:
Avoiding technical support scams

Under this section there are steps to take including making a report to the Fraud Division of Microsoft.

About your infected/affected laptop:

Take it to a reputable computer shoppe and explain what happened.
That you need to have your data backed up and that the drive must be wiped, formatted and the Operating System reinstalled.
This is the ONLY way to ensure that the bad guys no longer have access to you Laptop.
