I have been having a problem that has been driving nuts.

Whenever I have hdd activity, My sound card stutters. It happens when I
play a game, listen to mp3's or view video files. All of my IDE drives are set
    for DMA.

Here are the particulars of my system:
    Asus P4T533-C motherboard
    2.8 Ghz P4
    1 gig rdram
    120Gb Hitachi deskstar hdd
    Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
    Geforce 4 4600Ti w/128mb of vidram
    Windows XP Home SP2

    Any suggestions?

Try moving your soundcard to a different slot, also try disabling hyper-threading.
