I have a list of transactions by date and account code. I would like to summarize them by quarter, then account code.

The date is currently formatted as mm/dd/yy.

Is there a magical way to do this in Excel 2010?

    Thanks!

    Hi
A pivot table will do exactly that. The only trick you need to know is to use the Group function on your Date field and select Quarters or Years and Quarters if your data spans multiple years.
