I use the Sunbelt Personal Firewall version 4.6.1861 and I was wondering if I should temporarily disable the firewall whenever I install/uninstall a program or is it ok if I just leave it on? I use Windows XP

You should never disable your firewall unless absolutely necessary. I use Sunbelt and I've never had any problems installing software and have never needed to disable the firewall.

The only time you might have to disable it is when you're doing a major Windows update like XP SP3. When you do it's a good idea to disconnect from the internet.
