Good news for you who want Kerio personal firewall.
They will also still have a basic free version for home users of "Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall"

Hi Harry! Was wondering, have you ever used Outpost (by Agnitum) free firewall? I have a decision to make when I reload a computer for some friends, between Kerio, which I have never seen or used, and Outpost, which I've seen one time...but never set up. Which one would you say would be user friendly but give good protection, and which would be best for pretty new users to get the drift of easily?
It would be for XP Service Pack 2, a new computer about year old.

Have only used ZA from the very start so really can say anything about others.

But look here and your see "The 46 Best-ever Freeware Utilities"

    http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm

He picks Kerio but guess missed that it is getting taken over by Sunbelt.
    2nd pick is ZA
3rd is Sygate but not easy to use.
Even more difficult to install than Sygate is the NetVeda Safety.Net firewall that is in 4th place.

For me I have always used ZA and have the Pro version now and love it.
    So

I've used Kerio Personal Firewall before. I think it's a great firewall. The only reason I stopped using it was because I heard it was going to be discontinued. I then went to Zonealarm Antispyware. I have never used Outpost firewall before, but to me Kerio is reall user friendly.

Well williesbest2 I have always used ZA and got the pro version later and am still using next to the last 4.x version without any trouble.

Here is something new that was just posted.

I'm just saying I really liked Kerio, but now that I have ZAA I will never go back. Zone Alarm Antispyware (the one I have) is a lot more secure. The firewall I had before Kerio was Zonealarm Free which did not give enough protection (I don't even think it worked). So now I'm with Zone alarm now that I know how good their pay firewalls are.

Yes the Zone Alarm Pro has many things the free version does not have.

You can read up on the versions here and also download some of the last version.

Glad all is working so good for you williesbest2 with the new ZAA.
Lots of people the install was ok but lots had trouble too.
But there was also lots of trouble when version 5 came out and then again when version 6 came out and with version 6 you also had the added things they added like the AV etc so it was a very big change.
So alway best to wait and not get the new version right away. Wait till it has been out longer and all the bugs get fixed. Like now there is a new

You can read all the fixes here.

Your see the older versions did not have lots of fixes but starting with version 5 there was more fixes and like with version 6 it takes about 5 months or so for most of them to get fix where you will not have people posting all over about install troubles. I think they fixed things fast on version 6 then 5 because I know lots of people posted for help when version 5 came out.
