    I have the download.trojan within c:\ied_s7m.cab in a compressed file called ied.exe

    I have Norton antivirus 2003 prof edition, it's unable to quarantine or delete the file, I am unable to delete the file, Norton recomends going into safe mode and running AV there.

    This is my first problem, I went to msconfig to restart in safe mode, when I try to go in safe mode I get this error;

    An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes.

    I'm running XP Pro SP1 and its the only account (administrator), Whatever I seem to do on msconfig, returns the same error.

    I can get on safe mode by pressing F8 on start-up, however Norton still wont delete the file. I can delete the whole cab, but it wont give me the option if i do it manually to delete just the exe, I have to delete the whole cab.. I was just wondering is it ok to delete this cab? Its not an important file is it? I'm not particulary worried about leaving this virus on my computer at the moment as its not the worst virus in the world.. would rather make sure I'm not gonna be deleting a system file or something my computer desperately needs.. is there anyway i can delete just the exe? or is the whole cab bad?

    Also does anyone know wth is going on with my comp that it wont allow me to make changes within msconfig.. keeps giving the Access Denied error.
