If I'm running a laptop from its external PSU, rather than on battery, is there any merit in using a surge protector on the 230V supply to the PSU?
I know that, if there was a big surge on the mains supply, then it could perhaps damage the PSU, but would it have any effect down the low-voltage cable to the laptop itself?
