After fresh install of Open Suse 11 the message comes up - No Exec line in the session file: 01KDE. Running the Gnome failsafe session instead. Not sure what this means or how to fix?

Just boot to the SUSE 11 disk, and it should have an option for; Repair installed system, it sounds like your KDE destop is not fully and correctly installed. I did try the new KDE 4, but had some issues, so I put in the older and more stable KDE 3.5 version.

Im just lost i guess. when I startup with CD, Suse starts off CD with no problem, but I get no promps for repair. After Suse comes up I only have the Live Installer on desktop.

You may need to order the DVD SUSE 11 version, since that is a large installation, they must keep it to a minimum when only on a CD. My DVD has about 5 items to select on the boot menu which includes Repair and Rescue installed system. Your CD disk may have a defect on it, so maybe test the CD which some Linux download sites have this available. Look here; http://distrowatch.com/ , and here too; http://www.linuxcd.org/index.php , and this site; http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/products/linux

I am thinking that ordering the DVD might be the best. I am still going to try the test, just to see what happened. Thank You
