Hello guys ... I was hoping you could help me out. I am trying to help out my mom & dad clean up their computer. And as it turns out, their live update has not been able to update for some time now. They keep getting an "LU1814: Live Update Could Not Retrieve The Update List". They haven't performed the basic routine maintenance that a computer should go through (ad-aware programs) & since their anti-virus software is out of date, I am a little concerned that the problem is more severe then a connection error. I have enclosed a hijack this log. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi FijiPanther

    Welcome to TSG! :)

The HJT log is clean. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Norton? Is the virus definition subscritption up to date or has it expired?

    Flrman1,

Thanks for getting in touch and checking out the log. My father works for a local university and was able to get the latest version of Symantec, so I just intalled it on to their computer two nights ago before coming to the forum and the same message continued to appear. Maybe I should consider it to be a networking problem now since the log is clean? Thanks again.

Norton can only be installed on one computer unless it is a corporate license. What version is it?
