    I am getting the following message each time I start up:

    Settings alert, Symantec
    Integrity of Symantec product settings cannot be verified at this time. If you notice unintended product behaviour this can indicate an attacker or virus is attempting to disable your protection. Please uninstall and reinstall all Symantec security products to correct this.

    When I try to do this a message tells me Windows installer cannot be accessed. It only started happening after I recently had an ADSL connection
    Thanks for any help.

    Did you visit the Symantec site? If not, simply copy the error message and go to their website and post the error in the search section's type-in field box.
    Here's some info;
    First though-if you can, I'd run spybot and adaware tools,[links below]- see if those help any.
    more importantly, What symantec product/version/year, are you running? -and computer specs are...?
