I want to delete and reinstall PeoplePC. Apparently IE is holding on to it.
I go into Safe Mode with Command Prompt but get syntax errors.
File path shows as: C:\Program Files\PeoplePC.
Exactly what do I need to type after the blinking ">" symbol?

You really don't want to "delete" a program. It will leave dangling entries in the registry as well as files on disk.

What happens when you do an Add/Remove in Normal mode?
(and clarify what you mean by IE is holding on to it. Did you exit IE before the uninstall?)

It's not listed in Add/Remove, just in Programs. When I try to delete, message says it cannot delete because it's being used by another program even though I'm not using anything. I think the program has become corrupted and I simply want to reinstall it.

If you go to the folder where it is installed, is there an EXE there that "looks" like an Uninstall program? If so, run it.
Even a program called SETUP. Sometimes it caters to a "repair" function.

And, have you tried just doing a reinstall anyway?

Please. Can someone just tell me the exact syntax needed to delete that file?
I go into Safe Mode with Command Prompt but get syntax error message.
File path shows as: C:\Program Files\PeoplePC.

    Syntax is, and be careful

    RD "C:\program files\peoplepc"

RD stands for Remove Directory and does not ask for confirmation. It just deletes it.

Did you try just Safe mode, and then try to delete it via Explorer?

Thank you WhitPhil. I shall first think upon all this then.
