When I boot up my XP system, I get an error message saying (paraphrased) that syscpy couldn't execute. Nothing seems to be wrong with the computer. What is this program? What does it do? Do I need it? Can I correct the problem or get rid of this somehow?

    TIA

    Phil

This error occurs after a successful logon?
Look at the attributes of the file, look at MSCONFIG and stop it from loading aytomatically. Go into the registry and do a ctrl +F and search for the file, it is spyware, if you cant whack it because its in use go into safe mode and get rid of it.

That explains a lot. I have recently "wacked" a lot of spyware that came into the computer via my teenagers surfing habits. The error started to happen after removing some spyware, so maybe the file is gone and the regit entry is still looking for it! Thanks.
