    Hi all
When I start XP Pro I initially get screen of c:\Windows\system 32, saying " these files are hidden". Have to minimize to clear and continue start up.
Any suggestions to prevent this page appearing?

    Fix is here
    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
    Line 260, right hand side
    System32 Folder Opens Upon Boot

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

    Jack, thanks for your assistance.
Followed the instructions but got a message "script cannot repair the issue, expected Registry Value was not found.

Seems like I may have lost some files

    Thanks all for your help.
    Techychick solution worked
Jack, sorry to be a nuisance but after VBS file download (and missing registry) Windows is trying to Update (unsuccessfully) each time I close down system.

    Any solutions??
