Have asked thread to be moved to security. You have a hard to remove worm that I have not encountered before.

    http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.hllw.gaobot.gen.html

In the meantime, hit alt-ctr-del and stop these processes.
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\S24EvMon.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZCfgSvc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\1XConfig.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\basfipm.exe

Do not use PC for financial transactions. Worm steals passwords.

I've moved this to the security forum for better assistance. I have to check on something right now, I'll look through your log shortly.

    ZCfgSvc.exe=

Zero Config MFC Application Windows 2000/XP/2003 Service, part of Intel’s ProSET utilities and installed by the drivers for many of Intel wireless network cards, whether onboard as seen in some laptops (e.g. Intel Pro Wireless 2100 in Dell laptops amongst others), or in the shape of PCMCIA wireless network cards (e.g. Intel Pro Wireless 2011). This task provides background support functions for the Intel ProSET utilities which enable you to configure your wireless adapter and connection through the Intel ProSET icon in the System Tray.

    S24EvMon.exe=

Event Monitor - supports driver extensions to NIC Driver for wireless adapters

    basfipm.exe

I found this on that one:

    http://www.ohwtf.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=285

A google search on this one ...1XConfig.exe ..... turns up hits in several Hijack This logs, but all the experts seem to ignore it as if it is OK yet I can't find any info on what it is.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close all windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Thanks Guys. My virus checker could find no trace of the worm but removing the various items using HJT seems to have done the trick. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days and let you know if it stays clean. Thanks again.
