If I was you, I'd do your "Housekeeping" FIRST. You're online, without a virus checker, or spyware blocker? EEK!

I was referring to the housekeeping you said you had to do. I thought you meant that the things below that statement meant that you hadn't done it, yet!

    Sorry 'bout that...

What is it that system config is trying to update?

Might be an idea to post a "HijackThis!" log, mate.

No, mIRC's an IRChat server. Apart from that, though, I have no idea, I'm afraid.

Hopefully, someone who knows about HiJack logs'll be along, soon...

errr, download the latest hijack this- version 1.99.... use my link below to get it, then post again.
After that keep bumping and await a full analysis of your new HJT log-someone very proficient [not like me  ] will come and give you a good rundown of all you need to know.... Run spybot and adaware also before you make your new HJT.... spybot may need updating if you haven't done so already.... Also get Spyware Blaster setup on your system if not there already [link below].

What I do personally is do my online surfing with the browser mozilla firefox and use only IE6 for M$ updates.... Spyblaster operates with both.

bump every 3-4 hours is a better idea than each 20mins... for sure someone'll comealong and give a good analysis soon enough- or better yet ask to a moderator here to move this thread to the Security forum.
Having spywareblaster aboard doesn't hurt..... having an arsenal of good spybasher proggies doesn't hurt none :)
