system crashed - the machine will not run in safe mode

booting with a log shows lots of drivers loaded the last
one being agpCPQ.sys - it then fails to load ACPI
(although it seems to have loaded ok during the earlier
part of the boot) after that the boot seems to loop
repeatedly trying to load the same 10 or so drivers (with
a little variation) after several hundred entries in the
log it packs up at AFD.sys - having had ten consecutive
    goes at loading this driver

any ideas how best to proceed

I have tried using the reovery console to do a repaair but still have the problem

    help
