Since dropping Norton, I am without a system diagnostic program like "Win Doctor". Can anyone suggest a program that will safely do the same thing? It doesn't have to be free. It just has to work. I'm running XP SP2.

Easycleaner is a good replacement for windoctor, it also cleans the resigitry and missing shortcuts, and also includes some extra tools, dont use the duplicate file cleaner, unless you know what you are deleting.

    Hi Michael,

What did you replace Norton with? What features in Win Doctor are you looking for?

I dumped Norton after it caused so many problems with cloning my hard drive. I got a better response, and more accurate information, on this board than I did with their Customer Service/Tech Support.

I went with The Shield anti-virus and stayed with Zone Alarm, but I miss the "Win Doctor" diagnostics part of the Norton package.

You can always run window doctor from the cd, BUT you cannot undo any changes it makes!!
