When I'm playing Counter Strike, randomly, a message pops up and says, "Your display adapter has stopped working and has now recovered."

It's freezes the game and goes into 'no responding.' What is causing this problem? Anything I can do to this fix this?

If it is only happening with that one game it may just be a driver issue. Do you have the latest drivers for the card? Could also be a hardware issue.

Are you using Windows XP or Vista or 7, and is it the 32-bit or 64-bit version?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Go into the Device Manager, then click the + in Display Adapters. What's listed there for the description?

Double-click that description to open its properties window, then click the "Driver" tab. What's listed for the driver version and driver date?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

What's the brand name, model name, and model number of that computer?

How much RAM does it have?

The most current driver at the Intel site for that graphics controller for Vista 64-bit is available here.

    Driver version: 8.15.10.2226

    Driver date: 10/23/2010

Download and save it, close all open windows, then install it.

Updating the driver may resolve the problem.

Go to the Intel site here and run the Intel Driver Update Utility. You need to allow it to install an activeX control control from System Requirements Labs so the scanner can run. Once the scan is complete, it'll bring up a list of Intel drivers and advise you which ones have an update. Hopefully, a graphics driver update will be in the list.
