System idle process???

Excactly what is system idle process and why is it taking up all my CPU stuff??
Just wanna know..

The System Idle Process runs only when no other processes are using the CPU. Thus, when the CPU is idle, the System Idle Process is in action, executing special halt (HLT) instructions that put the CPU into a suspended mode and thereby cooling the processor. It uses up quite a bit of CPU time but very little memory.

Basically, it's reducing the amount of potential harm being done to your CPU by being switched on
