Right after i startup my computer there is a 2 minute period where I cannot start up any programs and some of the programs that start up with the computer dont initialize. After a while i here this noise in the computer that sounds like its coming from the harddrive or something and then all the programs start running and any program that i tried to start begins working as well. Anyone had this problem before cus i have no clue what it is.

Often happens when the number of files in a directory get excessive, or the number of directories get large.

The sound is hard drive activity as Windows Explorer indexex the files to allow it to operate, I believe.

Lot of files on the hard drive?
