Have XP Home (512m). System running slow; starting programs, screen painting, etc. Ran Spybot and Adaware but nothing. Attaching HiJack log if someone can spot something. Last change I made was to un-install Norton 2003 and load Avast.
THanks for the look.

Hi...No sign of Norton on your HJT log....But if you did not use their method of uninstalling many referencies to Norton remain in your system and can cause problems...
A log expert will read your log and help you...

I used the NAV 2003 Uninstaller. It seemed to un-install ok. I then installed Avast and the only warning I got was about their Web scanner and ZoneAlarm. It gave me the option of not activating the scanner and I selected that.
Been scanning other posts and noted one about overheating. I've had a problem with this before and I removed the case and cleaned all the fans and removed dust, etc. about 4-6 weeks ago. My tower is between an open bottom desk and a chest of drawers and may not be getting enough circulation. Any thoughts?
