    I have just upgraded to a Asus A7N8X Deluxe with a AMD barton 2500 fsb 333 and 512mb DDR400 PC3200.

After a slow start with a dead mobo which got replaced I now have the system running at the right speed and im tring to install the OS. This is where the problem comes I have tried all windows from 98 to XP and with each one the system crashes with a general protection error different ones each time. They range from true type font errors to kernal errors and every time its within 5 mins of starting to install.

Heat is not the problem as im running a coolmaster aero 7 lite and the temp never goes above 40.
I have ran the CPU on another system and that booted and ran windows with no problems so I dont think its that.

Has anyone got any idea of what could be causing this problem or can think of anything i can try.
