I found an older thread dealing with this problem, but the answers didn't help me out any. Each time we start the computer system32 shows on the screen.

I tried this (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/reg...stem32opens.vbs) fix, but I don't have the problem that that fix is specific to.

Here's my hijackthis log in case the problem is in here. Even if it's not, deal me what to delete! (y)

This is for a modem so don't delete it:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BCMSMMSG] BCMSMMSG.exe

Then have hijack fix this as well"

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:

Although you have a lot of spyware, if the System32 folder shows on the desktop, there is typically an invalid entry in the Registry

    Start Regedit
    Go to both:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Double check that the values do not have incorrect, incomplete, or blank entries
