When I boot my computer it says this:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\drivers\

after the backslash after drivers it lists many drivers each one on a different line.

It also had 2 other similar messages. Ex.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\AppPatch\drivers\

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\Fonts\drivers\

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Boot from XP CD , select the first repair option. When the c:\ prompt comes up type - CHKDSK and press enter . wait until it finishes its scan .
At the next c:\ prompt type- FIXBOOT. When it is finished reboot. I think this will fix it.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I can't boot from the CD either. The BIOS is set to boot from the CD. F8 doesn't get me to a screen where I can choose to boot to a C prompt either. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for your help.
