i did maintenance on my compaq evo pc. after connecting the cables i was getting this error message "System32\DRIVERS\pci.sys missing or corrupt ". i took off the memory and clearned it and installed it one after the other. I realized that when i stall one particular memory is when i get this error message but when i remove it the pc is able to boot to desktop. my question is the that the memory is damaged or it just a pure coincidence. someone should please help me out.

Try running Memtest86+ with one stick of RAM installed at a time. Link to download Memtest86+ is here: http://www.memtest.org/
If no errors, try both sticks together.
