system32 file opening at startup/boot

    You probably heard it a 100 times, but would you please help me as well?
    This is making me extreamly mad. I have a new PC and it came with the problem.

    Every time I start my PC it will open the System32 folder and display it contens.
    This is getting to me. All I want is for it to stop. Other problems I don't have.

    If you haven't already done so, you should post your HijackThis Scanlog in a separate thread. His problem was likely this entry:

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SB Audigy 2 Startup Menu] /L:ENG

    but that is the exception, not the rule, for this issue.

    Hi Sal,

    Click on Start Button, click on Run and when field opens, type in msconfig, after that click OK.
    When the System Config. Utility opens, Click on the TAB=P Startup unmark /L:ENG, click apply and re-boot.
    Now you will get a message from XP that you made changes, mark it so it will not come back next time.

    That should do the trick.
