Hello,

Win2K
550 CPU
484 Memory

Periodically (every few weeks) I received the following message. Sometimes the OS will right itself by rebooting, other times I have to repair or reload Windows 2000.

"Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: windows 2000root>system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please reinstal a copy of the above file."

Why would this file become corrupted on a regular basis? Or corrupt at all?

Thank you for any information you might be able to give.

Penny

Hello Tony,

A friend checked the insides of my sick computer and thinks the motherboard may be "fried", not terminally but enough to frighten the poor machine into causing errors. Something has turned "blue" that shouldn't be that colour!! Have ordered new plumbing, which should make the computer much quicker in the long run.

Hope you keep well,

Bye,
Penny.
