systems configuration error code purple

    Yes im trying to resolve a systems configuration error code purple. computer is a compaq desktop windows xp 3 thats quite old .no new hardware has been installed but on startup i get that message.read a lot of post on this but cant resolve this.lost my copy of the OS.when i run safemode recovery no luck there ,then i did a destrutive recovery,that i dont think i should have done.would that complicate things with out haveing the orignal os cd.:confused: i would appreciat any updated input or ideas on the systems configuration error code purple

    When exactly do you get the message? Is it before Windows starts to boot? How does the message appear? Is it white lettering on a black background?

    Does the machine boot? If so, how (What do you have to do after you see the message to get it to boot)?

    When l power on I get the windows logo on screen. under the windows logo it says please waite .then a white box appears across the windows logo. it states in blue letters systems configuration error .your computer has a configuration error and to call customer support hold power button to turn off your computer report systems configurations error code purple.
