OK, I did research on my step-mom's pc and made sure that it will hold 512mbs, according to 3 diff. websites it does.

I purchased 512mbs, at ridiculous price I may add, lol. Anyhow, when I installed it, pc won't boot up. There are 2 slots available, does it only support two 256's??? Is that possible?

It's an E-Machines T-1801 model.

THanx.

Actually that site implies 256MB is the most per stick. It says 512MB is the MAXIMUM and that there are 2 slots. 512MB divided by 2 is 256MB per slot, and hence why they only sell up to 256MB sticks for the system.
