Can this computer get internet access through another type of connection (wireless, ethernet ...)?

What are you trying to download and with what download manager? Please don't say you're trying to download hardware, as that hasn't yet been invented except in science fiction. :)

With your T-Mobile connection please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Thank you I did what you said and a black screen popped up then disappeared. I had previously tried the t mobile web connect stick and the tech downloaded the software to the computer to try to help me
Normally you plug in the stick and it downloads the software automatically. It worked on old computer
but I need it to work on laptop I purchased on ebay from canadian company? Any feedback appreciated
I wondered if the drivers are installed here ? any way to tell I use the usb for other programs fine
