Got a tablet PC, but we lost the original system disc that came with it. Can I simply put WinXP Pro on it or do I have to put Tablet Edition on it?

You can install Windows XP Pro, but you will not get the Tablet functionality. What brand of Tablet pc is this?

    it's a ThinkPad X41 Tablet

I'm not even sure what the features are of tablet edition anyway, so i guess i can skip it

Actually the Tablet functionality is very nice. I have a Gateway Tablet pc and really love it. Bad thing is you cannot buy Windows XP Tablet Edition it must come preinstalled on a Tablet PC. You should be able to get a replacement CD from Lenovo. It should be a lot cheaper than buying a new copy of Windows XP.

i barely use the stylus on my Windows Mobile phone, so i can't imagine liking the stylus on a laptop/tablet. if the tablet pc had the same touchscreen as WM devices where i could use my fingers too then that'll be cool (touchscreen kit may be in order)

anyways... the X41 actually has the restore files on a hidden partition so i'm making restore discs using the included software

    thanks folks
