I've gone through a number of the postings on task manager problems and haven't found a solution to my problem. When I press ctrl/alt/del all that happens is a small square appears in the system tray showing a memory usage bar. I've downloaded a third party task manager and don't see anything that looks suspicious running. Regedit does work and I don't see anything suspicious under any of the windows/currentversion/run or runonce keys. Here is my HijackThis log file. Any suggestions?

Is your Adaware up-to-date? Run the update in it and run a scan - fix anything it finds.

Also go into your Norton , run a manual update and then do a scan - make sure its set to scan all files in Options.

    Thanks Triple6,
I had not updated Adaware recently. I did that and it found a few adware entries but nothing that changed the task manager problem. Norton, spybot and trendmicro scans have turned up nothing.
