Hello All,

So when I purchased my computer, I kept running into a resolution issue in which the screen would automatically change the resolution every time I turned on the computer. I just manually changed it back, which wasn't that big of a deal.

Not long after the resolution problems, my windows taskbar had started disappearing. To correct the problem, I would always restart explorer.exe, which was the main problem.

To do so, I would ctrl+alt+delete to the menu and select "start task bar". The task bar would start and i would have access to the process explorer.exe

Today, however, when i clicked the "start task bar" button to make my taskbar reappear, nothing came up. I tried restarting my computer but still nothing is happening.

The problem here is, to try and fix the task manager, I need access to the Taskbar, but to gain access to the taskbar, I need to use the Task manager.

My guess is that the Task manager is off-screen,but since i don't have the taskbar, i cannot select the "move" option by right-clicking the program.

Any Ideas? I've scanned my computer with AVG Free antivirus on automatic speed and nothing is turning up.

PS, the only way that I can find around this is to do a system recovery, but what if this happens again?

If you are right about the task manager being off screen, you could use the keyboard to access the run box. Alt, then down, then enter, then type the command, then enter again should work. This does sound like a virus though, whatever AVG might say. You might want to ask in the Security & HJT room.
