I am running Windows XP is is it safe to empty the "Temp"folder by just using "Select All" and then "delete" Is it conceivable there could be some files in there I should save.Or, are they all juts what the folder name implies?

Sure. Unless you are running a big program (ms works, dreamweaver, paint shop pro, game) it's 100% same to clear temp folder.
