temp internet files how to deleate

i have all kind of files in the temp internet files. under content ie5, are sub folders each one has a lot of files in them. i tried this inter net opps>temp internet files>deleate that dident work i even re- booted, can i go to the sub folders>select all>and deleate, is it safe i dont to run into any more problems

Yes...that is actully how I delete my Temp files.

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files


and then I select all and hit delete.

Give it a few seconds if you have a lot of files

Just note that when you do that, you are also deleting all of your cookies.
If you just want to delete the cache, go to IE > Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files Button and Select Offline Content also.
