You mean 'broken' lines when posting reg files, I gather... :D

It's a true epidemic at boards everywhere, I'm beginning to think.

There is a problem with this Board and registry files. It seemed to be fine before the upgrade.
I exported a reg key to Notepad and copied it here.
Recopied back to Notepad.
Removed same key from Registry. Imported the key from the copy I pasted from here.
It didn't enter correctly.

It used to be that when I copied a reg file, even if the lines were curtailed, when I pasted back into Notepad, everything was back as it had been and the reg file worked.

That's no longer the case. I copied a working reg file into the post. Recopied it and it was changed.

But I think even before the change the lines were being curtailed already, If I remember correctly.
And when copying them back to Notepad I think they remained curtailed.

Let me try and find an example somewhere

Tony,
Thanks. I may need to post a reg fix later for someone and am not going to do so if this doesn't work.

EDIT:
I went back to a couple of old posts and you are right. This software changes the Format. That will pose a problem. Guess I'll have to attach them as text files. Then have the poster Download and change the extension to reg I'm glad that option is available.

Mo,

take a look at this:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]
"ConnectionSettings"=dword:00000001

It works!

Tony,

Got me! I copied and pasted that into Notepad and it was changed. I htink I'll use the attachment option. I can post the fixes as example with warnings not to copy from the post.

No, doesn't work either.

If I should have a reg file to post, I'll follow your advice.

Cheers,

I did that a couple of days ago, actually. Posted one attached as a *.txt file, and asking people to rename it to *.reg.

Greetz,
