is it possible to add an attachment to a text message I am sending, like you would with email? If yes, can someone help this old Luddite out. I have a PNG image on my laptop which I want to send to a friend. Thank you.

Thank you for this information. I'm afraid I don't understand any of it but that's on me, not you.

Let me try to confuse even more. Can't give real explicit directions since I don't have Android, but it is very similar (as most Android is) to iOS.

Open Photos. View the photo you want to send. Tab on the Share icon. Choose the desired way to share (Twitter, Facebook, email, etc.). You want to choose your text messaging app. Add whatever text you want to say and send away. :)

And as for as MMS, SMS, Text, Message, iMessage, etc., differences? Until I start developing Apps I'm going to continue my ignorance. :D

Truthfully, I've probably sent under 10 texts since owning my android phone. (March 2017). I send emails.

The problem with texting is that I don't keep my phone on. My friend sends a text and if I don't turn on my phone for several days, her service stops trying and tells her text not received.
