Thank you everyone who has helped the past few months with "the problem computer" - the Windows XP Professional. All the spyware and adware was completely removed and finally the Internet connection has been restored. Everything to do with Internet Explorer had to be re-installed and all the codes/numbers that came with the Internet server we use were re-typed (including the ISP etc). All is now working, so thank you to all who have helped. No doubt I'll be having problems with my own personal laptop in the future, but I know how helpful people are on this forum so I will not need to worry too much!
