the cheapest phone prices/new google phones

    all i get from the phone company is dsl and no landline ,but is there a way a phone can be morphed from the dsl?is magic jack the thing-?-i guess there is yahoo messenger--is Skype free?

    i guess i heard google will offer a cheap phone and calls can be made from even a tablet

    you can get online even with a cheap smartphone that has run out of minutes from a prepaid

    the phone co is a ripoff

    but i do have a tracfone

    There are many Voice Over IP systems, Magic Jack is one of them that can be used with real phones, so can Vonage. Skype or Google Voice are examples of software ones. But there are many others. Skype is free for toll free numbers and if you have certain Microsoft packages I think you can get a certain number of minutes free. Most VOIP services are not free. Certain cell phone providers also give you WiFi calling from what I've heard.

    Personally I only have a cell phone as I have no need for a home voice line at all even though my cable company offers dirt cheap phone service when bundled. In the 5 years I've never had a need for anything other than a cell phone and several of my friends don't have land lines either.
