I'm getting the Low Disk Space message in Windows XP. Well, DUH...I knew that I was running out of room, so I bought an external hard drive with more space than I'll ever fill. Like an idiot...when I got the external.....I just went to folders...sometimes programs and used "send to" the now G: drive. Yes, I know, that was STUPID! Many of the same files are duplicated, etc so that they were copied and sent....not actually MOVED. Some of my programs don't even work correctly anymore.

I know that I can do a system restore....but I'm almost afraid that it might crash my pc. What is the easiest way to fix this problem and put everything else, except my bare essentials, on the bigger drive?

    Thanks!

Do those same programs work when the external hard drive is disconnected? It really seems like the easiest way to fix it would be to do a system restore then delete everything on the external hard drive or reformat it and start over. The files were only copied over and not cut or removed from the main drive so with everything still in place I don't see why the system would become unstable.

I've found two programs that were installed directly to the Ext. HD. Everything else seems to be fine. I do know that I've put some newer files there....strictly for storage space reasons. So, I can't totally wipe the Ext. HD clean....but should be able to dump the duplicates. It's not like there's a spacial issue anyway, as the new drive is 500GB.
    Thanks!
