Not long ago there was a posting to the effect that someone had read that the internet would soon run out of addresses.

ICAAN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has recently issued its first annual report; http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-19jan07.htm In it, the Chairman of the Board refers to the rumours and confirms that the IPv4 addresses may be used up in the next decade but that implementation of the IPv6 addresses has already begun in some countries.

There are 340 trillion, trillion, trillion v6 addresses available so, as long as implementation is not unduly delayed, we need not panic for a year or two!
