The Not Supported Or Stand Alone Rub

    ...I get a message at times after downloading, that says....this is not meant to be a stand alone application..........and download is worthless...or something like that..they refer me to go to cnet catchup someway.......went there and still too dense to figure this out........so whats going on here.......I have Windows 98se.

    Without more detail about the application(s) you are trying to install I can only guess what your problem is.

    If you d/l something and attempt to install it, and that d/l needs another program or a specific version of another program before it can work and you don't have it, then a good installer should warn you (a) that you don't have the program or (b) that your version is out of date.

    Then again, your problem could be something entirely different, so post some more details or wait and see what other responses you get.
