the same windows update time and time again?

hello i keep getting a msg saying there are updates available but when i update it i can see it is the same one time and time again,i have turned off auto update but how do i stop the same update time and time again please? i am running with windows vista premium 64 bit

I have had this issue before, but was never able to fix it on my own. Eventually it finally stopped on it's own.

I believe it's an error in the communication between your computer and the update site.

the update was kb936181 but someone else has given me info and it seems microsoft know there is a problem with this update,he gave me a method of fixing which i think has cured it.

i also found this:-In Control Panel - Uninstall programs, I show two instances of:
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB936181) instsalled 10/24/07
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB941833) installed 10/25/07
