I'm having trouble uninstalling an app that includes a Windows service.

I've gone through the various solutions related to this issue on Google but haven't found anything.

The first time I tried to uninstall the app it blew chunks.

Now I can't uninstall it nor install a new version.

I've tried to fix this manually through the registry but apparently I've missed something.

When I try uninstall the app I get the error "Error 1001. The specified service already exists."

The service is nowhere to be seen using the shell SC command.

Must be something in the registry.

Any help?

Thanks a lot!

Services do not reside in the registry. Try looking in the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. This will bring up a window showing all of the services on your computer, so you can alter or remove them if you so wish.

Sure services reside in the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Thanks though
