Hey all, can anyone help me with this? Much appreciated! ;-) I have a second-hand XviD AVI file with a black border on all four sides that makes trying to watch it a pain---obviously needs cropped right? I do know how to crop video files using VirtualDub through a null transform and all that; however, I have noticed that this and some other files here and there will appear uncropped on playback, and yet will appear fully cropped when brought into VirtualDub, VidCrop, and any other cropping tool I've found. I've even tried cropping such files by a couple of pixel columns to see if that would "trick" the problem into a resolution, but no joy---the video will remain uncropped on playback.

Has anyone else experienced this? I can't for the life of me imagine how a file could playback with a four-sided black border and yet not show that black border when brought into video editing software. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya', a conspiracy! LOL ;-) Any help appreciated. Cheers! ;-)
