I have an IBM Thinkpad 755. Whenever I try to write to the floppy disk I receive the message: System Error Memory parity error detected System halted. I then have to reboot. I have replaced the floppy and run the diagnostic memory check. I have no ieda how to proceed.

    Thank you

Parity errors usually only occur when the BIOS is set up for ECC type memory and you have non ECC memory in or vica versa. HAve you done a memory upgrade lately? One thing you can try is to disable you on board cache in the BIOS to test out another problem. If it works after disabling this setting your CPU is probably bad.
