Hi, welcome to TSG.

What operating system are you using?
How long have you been receiving these errors?
Have you recently added or removed any software from your system?
Have you added or removed any devices?
What applications do you have running at startup?
What kinds of files are you trying to access when you get these illegal operation errors?

You should probably run a virus-scan on the system, if you haven't already.

Please post back with a bit more info.

Thanks

:)

I have done some checking in windows 98 help option, and checked for corupted files, it first came up with SHDOCLC.DLLY
and then it came up with Setupx.dll, i think this is the cause why
illegal movement and explorer is shutting down, when accessing
files, can anyone help me to get shut of these corrupt files, thanks.

Hi Monkey41,try going to SFC(system file checker)To see if that will help with the corupted files.Go to Start>Run>type in msinfo32>When the system information window opens, click on tools at the top of the page, then click System File Checker.Click Start, and see if windows will fix these files. You might need your Window 98 disk,in case you have to extract one.Just follow the prompts.
