Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 cumulative patch (828750)

Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 patch (818857)

Media Player security update (828026)

(Note: If you install both Internet Explorer updates, install 828750 first and 818857 second. 828750 updates Urlmon.dll to 6.0.2800.1259 and 818857 updates Urlmon.dll to 6.0.2800.1267)

I was at the Update site, but only the first two were offered to me
--Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 cumulative patch (828750)
--Media Player security update (828026)

Those installed and after rebooting I went back, rescanned, but the second one you mentioned
--Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 patch (818857)
is still not showing up as being available to me.

Would the site hold off on displaying it to my computer, to prevent me from installing them in the wrong order? (I don't do the auto updates...And it's right not to trust me!) Maybe it will appear tomorrow or something?

marie500,

I don't have IE 6 so I'm just guessing here. The clue here may be that 828750 is cumulative (meaning that it includes all the earlier ones).

If the numbering used by MS means anything, it suggests that 818857 is older than 828750, so you probably don't need it (if you see what I mean).

Marie:

The 818857 doesn't appear on the Microsoft windows updates site (like many of them don't). You can obtain it and read about it here. Scroll down the page and look for the heading, "Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 Update". I've already installed in both my 98SE and XP computers.
