I've seen many threads on this and have tried suggested fixes but none have worked. Thought I'd try again. Using Adobe Bridge CS3 on a mac. Have been for years. Until an hour ago, when opened Bridge, thumbnails showed images. Now still see images for JPEG and PSD files, but not for DNG or NEF files - just see icons for these. When click on them, they used to open in bridge. Now they automatically open in photoshop. When save as PSD file, the thumbnail shows the image. This makes things impossible, with 10s of thousands of images in folders.

We've deleted the data folder from the Bridge cache folder (as suggested in one Adobe thread), have purged the cache via preferences (suggested in another), purged the cache via tools (as suggested by another) and downloaded ACR 4.6 (I think we were already up to date but did it anyway) and purged the cache again (as suggested in another thread). Nothing has worked. Dreading the thought of uninstalling and reinstalling, so hoping somebody will be able to help.

Also, a week ago, we installed Lightroom. This had no negative influences. All thumbnails show up correctly in Lightroom.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

That's what we did after the problem started. In a thread written by somebody at Adobe, it was suggested that this would solve the problem. So we tried it. It didn't seem to have any effect.
