my dad reports that when he plays a movie from a DVD disc (AVI's / DVD etc) the audio makes a thumping noise and the hard-drive and DVD LED's flash at the same time... its not a codec issue and he says it happens mostly when the sound gets louder but i think this is coincidence cos he's complained on some the video stutters to but mostly audio...

he recently spilled coffee on his PC tower and thinks it might be broken from that but i dont know if any coffee got into it - only way in is through the front - its operational...

he uses VLC and WMP - he says it a THUMP THUMP THUMP sound

    any ideas?

    thanks
